Dear College Presidents & PTK Advisors,
We are pleased to announce Dr. Heather Eddy, Science Instructor and General Biology Program Coordinator at York Technical College, has been appointed as the PTK Carolinas Regional Coordinator effective December 1, 2025. Heather has served as a PTK advisor for the Alpha Alpha Iota Chapter since 2018 and has been recognized nationally for her leadership, earning the Paragon Award for New Advisors (2021) and the Distinguished Advisor Award (2023). Her commitment to student growth, academic excellence, and chapter development has made her a highly respected advisor within Phi Theta Kappa.
Heather’s academic background reflects an impressive breadth of study, including a B.S. in Biology from Francis Marion University, an M.S. in Biology/Physiology from Baylor University, an MLA in Religion and Political Science from Dallas Baptist University, and an Ed.D. in Online Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. Her doctoral research focused on improving student success in online anatomy and physiology courses—an area closely aligned with her work supporting students at York Tech.
She began her teaching career in the Dallas College System before joining York Technical College in 2006, later becoming full-time faculty in 2017. Heather developed several impactful initiatives, including the BIO 210 Boot Camp and a suite of eLearning resources designed to strengthen student performance in anatomy and physiology. She has taught courses across the biological sciences—ranging from general biology to microbiology—and also serves as Vice President of the Nursing Advisory Board and holds additional certifications as an American Red Cross CPR Instructor and FiTour Aqua Fitness Instructor.
Heather is deeply committed to strengthening regional engagement in Phi Theta Kappa and brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to her new leadership role. In her free time, she enjoys reading mysteries, swimming, playing the flute, learning piano, and even roller skating.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Heather Eddy as she begins this new journey in support of PTK’s mission and the Carolinas Region.
Sincerely,
Lynn Tincher-Ladner, Ph.D.
